Botswana Market Watch | June 22nd 2015: Botswana domestic composite index marginally falls 5bps
Gaborone, Botswana (Capital Markets in Africa):- The Botswana domestic composite index lost 0.05 percent or 5.00 point to close at BWP 10,602.94. However, the foreign composite index remained unchanged to close at 1,570.91 points. Likewise, the equity market capitalization was recorded at BWP 420.428 billion.
From the market activity viewpoint, the daily volume and turnover settle at 751,080 and BWP 2.066 million. Barclays Bank Botswana recorded a volume of 18,516 and turnover of BWP 44,167, CHOPPIES ended with 1,409 traded securities with BWP 6,312 turnover and First National Bank Botswana traded securities and turnover were 28,730 and BWP 112,320 respectively. 335
Looking at the price movers’, Botswana Insurance Holdings Limited gained BWP 0.03 to close the day at BWP 13.66, First National Bank Botswana added BWP 0.01 to end at BWP 3.91, TURNSTAR surged by BWP 0.01 to settle at BWP 2.45 while LETSHEGO fell by BWP 0.02 with a closing price of BWP 3.35.
